She/Her
LaQueen Battle is a first-time candidate for both City Council and School Committee. A Certified Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant and CHA resident, LaQueen's run for Council and School Committee is informed by her experience with navigating housing insecurity and social services as a domestic violence survivor, and in community activism.
LaQueen Battle has first-hand experience with housing insecurity and has lived in Chicago, Quincy, and now Cambridge. LaQueen has spoken in support of services for people experiencing housing insecurity.
LaQueen is in favor of upzoning and knows firsthand how difficult accessing Affordable Housing is. She has experience with rent control and has spoken about the balance of rent control at the expense of affordable housing, and thinks there should be more of an emphasis on paths to home ownership.
She has given public comment in support of exploring Social Housing.
