Incumbent Paul Toner decided not to seek reelection following charges for frequenting a brothel.
He has endorsed and is actively campaigning for Tim Flaherty to replace him on the Council.
Paul Toner is a person I have known my entire life. He's a man of high character. He loves his family and his family loves him. None of us are perfect. He's a hard-working city councilor, and the City of Cambridge is lucky to have him.
Looking at the 2023 Council race, Toner labels himself “the more moderate of the candidates.”

Paul F. Toner, the second incumbent endorsed by the CCC, said he doesn’t “think anybody here is transphobic or Islamophobic, or is racist.”
“I think there may be some mistakes that have been made along the way,” he said.
